Login:
For security purposes, we have designed our Time-tracking software with login as the first action. The admin could provide the login credentials to the employees from the day of joining. The login credentials will be verified with the credentials available in the admin panel. Once the employee logs in, the employee will be redirected to the home page, where the current date and time will be displayed. There will be a Clock In button.
The Clock In button should be pressed as soon as the employee starts their work. This will activate the timer in the system from which the working hours of the employee will be calculated. In the Clock In option, there will be 2 options likely,
Update Break – The option where the break from the work if any should be informed
through. This Update break option has 2 more options Lunch break and Others. If the employee wants to go for the lunch break, they have to click on the lunch break option. If the employee needs any other break they have to click the others option and feed the reason in the corresponding textbox.
Clock Out – When the employee closes the work at the end of the day, this clock-out option
should be clicked. The clock out refers to the closure time of the employee. Once the employee closes the work, the particular time will be recorded as the closing time of the working day to the employee.
If the Update Break or Clock Out button is once selected, the button will be changed as Resume. The employee has to click this resume button once he/she restarts the work after the break so that the working time will be calculated in the log.
Attendance:
Attendance is the tab where the detailed log of the employee’s working hours will be displayed. Using this attendance tab, the employee’s working hours will be displayed in various reports. For example, there will be a start date and end date option. By selecting the start date to the end date, the employer can get the result as the number of working hours the employee worked between those two days. It will show the clock-in, clock-out time, and the total number of working hours irrespective of the break hours.
There will be another button called Break hours, by clicking it, the break hours log will be shown on the selected date.
- Leave:
The next available feature is the Leave tab where two operations are possible.
- The leave taken by the employee will be displayed as a report on the screen.
- The employee should apply their leave in this leave tab by selecting the “Apply for Leave” option.
Employees can apply for leave by providing the requested details such as
Leave Type where the list of leave types will be displayed. From the list, the employee has to
select the required leave type.
- Leave From where the date from which the employee wants to take leave should be selected.
- Leave to where the date up to which the employee wants to take the leave should be selected.
- Provide the reason for the leave in the Reason text box.
By providing all the details requested to apply for the leave, the employee can submit the leave request, then the leave will be approved by the concerned official who has the authority to approve. The confirmation of approved leave will be sent to the employee through mail.
Profile:
Finally, the profile tab will be there, where the details about the employee such as,
- Name,
- Mail ID,
- Mobile number, and
- Emergency contact number
Will be displayed. The employee can edit the details by using the update option.

- Change Password:
The change password is the option available in our employee time tracker application where
the employee can change their previous password. By clicking this option, it redirects to the page where the current password will be changed by providing the new password. Here, the employee has to provide the current password and a new password should be given in the new password box and confirm the password text box. The employee can reset the password by clicking on the reset password button which replaces the password in the admin panel. This is the process of changing passwords.
