Find A Gaff (‘Gaff’ for home) is an online platform to produce a connected world of gaff owners and guests, who can reach that handshake in the most convenient of ways. Find A Gaff was established in Caput Mundi (Capital of the world) London, with the vision of a world where every community is able to share their gaff with anyone and learn from each other to build a global network of gaffs.
Problem Statement
Findagaff company has proposed Smarther Technologies with the idea of creating an online platform for property hosting services. The vision of Findagaff is to connect the room seekers with property owners for rental through a mobile app and website. We at Smarther interested to collaborate with Findagaff team and started to brainstorm the requirement to come up with the solution. The idea is to create an app for users to find a property based on location and to connect with the property owner.
The Process
Gathering Information – Our Business Analyst gathered information from the client.
Research and Discovery – After gathering the requirement, it will be discussed with app developers and they used to research the design technologies before developing it.
App Development – In this process, the coding will be implemented, and the UI/UX designed and back-end is executed.
Testing – After that, the app will be undergoing various testing processes and the errors will be rectified.

Findagaff app consists of two main modules in-app and website. The complete app is controlled by Admin Panel which provided all backend control features.

Login/Registration
To kick start with the app, a user has an easy method to enter by simply entering a mobile number and verify the OTP. The app also includes Facebook and Google social login.
Search Nearby Properties
After successfully enter into the app, user can choose their location to find the nearby property available for booking. The app provides information including rating, distance, and more.
Property Overview
The property includes complete details including gallery images, property description, rental pricing, details of the property owner, list of amenities, and request for a visit.
Online Chat
The online chatting features help users to connect with property owners to know more information about the house and can request a visit or discuss book confirmation.
Flexible Payment
Findagaff provided a flexible payment option for its users while booking through the app or website. The easy payment method includes credit/debit cards, internet banking, and more.
Create Property
The property owner can register their assets by simply verify entering all mandatory information of the house which includes details of images, pricing, description, and amenities.
Manage Property
A user can able to own and manage multiple properties in the same account and can able to manage requests for individual properties through the app or website.
Review & Rating
The app enables user review and rating option for each property which help to know more about the quality of the place where they wanted to rent in.
CHALLENGES
To implement the idea of Findagaff it required to integrate many dependencies to operate the complete flow. The app development proposed to develop in two different platforms, Android and iOS. For login and registration, social media integration is required. For search and notification services we needed some third-party integrations to make easy location-based search and to send on-time notifications of all updates. The app requires flexible payment integrations for easy bookings. With our team of developers, we have planned the right architecture to build the idea into an app.
SOLUTION
After planning the route map for the project we have started building the app with all provided requirements.We have integrated mobile numbers with OTP verification by connecting to the SMS gateway provider. We also integrated Google search API to find the current location of the user and also to get the list of available nearby properties. The app includes chat features to connect and share with the property owners and exchange live messages. We integrated a payment gateway for easy and flexible payout model for transactions in both android and iOS platforms.
RESULT
We have successfully implemented all the features based on the requirement and deployed them into the Android play store and Apple’s Play store. Findagaff platform is successfully launched in London and started getting users. The app is targeting young and college audiences to make use of their platform to find the best place to stay in a nearby location to their universities. Findagaff expected to expand its business to more locations in the future and we are excited to contribute more to this platform.
